Indian Head Massage
with Marma Point Therapy
Ayurveda has a rich history of being an essential and beneficial healing system for treating and nurturing the mind, body, and spirit for thousands of years in India and Eastern cultures. One important component of the Ayurvedic system is massage, specifically Indian head massage and Marma point therapy. These massage techniques benefit the whole body while positively affecting the mind and spirit. The massage techniques Laura uses in her treatments work primarily on the scalp, face, neck, and shoulders.
Marmas are the centers for the vital force energy (or Prana), special Ayurvedic energy points on the body, similar to acupuncture points. By stimulating these points, we can direct Prana for health, well-being, and personal transformation by removing blockages, improving energy flow or tapping into energy reserves, and bringing the body into harmonious balance. Marmas are connected to the chakras (7 main energy centers) and nadis (network of channels through which energy travels in the body) and can be used to balance both body and mind.
